課程概述

In this course it will be focused on working the four communicative skills in Spanish at intermediate level: listening, reading, writing and speaking 

課程目標
Goal

The main goal is that students reach B1 level at the end of this course. That means:
He/she can reasonably fluently sustain a straightforward description of one of a variety of subjects within
his/her field of interest, presenting it as a linear sequence of points (oral production).
He/she can write straightforward connected texts on a range of familiar subjects within his field of interest, by
linking a series of shorter discrete elements into a linear sequence (written production).
He/she can understand straightforward factual information about common everyday or job related topics,
identifying both general messages and specific details, provided speech is clearly articulated in a
generally familiar accent and Can understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in
work, school, leisure etc., including short narratives (listening comprehension).
He/she can read straightforward factual texts on subjects related to his/her field and interest with a
satisfactory level of comprehension (reading comprehension). 
課程要求
There is no special required in this course. However, it's important to know the language instruction in this course will be Spanish and, from time to time, English will be used to clarify some concepts only.

Week 1
2/22,2/24  February 22nd, 2011:
First, correction of the final exam of the first semester (you cand download the exam and the listening).
Next on, I explain assessment for this second semester (you can download).
Later we listen "Volverte a ver" by Juanes. You complete the missing words of the song lyrics. Later, I explain the vocabulary (you can download the song, the music video,the lyrics exercise, and the lyrics).
Finally, we start unit 6, and we do exercise 1, on page 56.
February 24th, 2011:
We watch movie "Todo sobre mi madre" by Pedro Almodovar. This will be the first composition. You have to write, at least 400 words. The composition consist of, an explanation of the movie plot -at least, 275 words- and your personal opinion -at least 125 words- Remeber, when you explain the plot you have to use past tense (imperfecto and indefinido, mainly). Deadline: April 26, 2010

Week 2
3/01,3/03  April 1st:
I revise "preterito pluscuamperfecto" (past perfect) and I explain "presente continuo" of file "Gramatica de la leccion 6" (on page 1 and 2). We practice "presente continuo" doing exercises on files "65 A and B" and "66 A and B". Later I explain we also have past continuos and it's possible with all the forms of past tense in Spanish, that is, "preterito perfecto continuo" (he estado trabajando); "pretérito imperfecto continuo" (estaba trabajando"; "preterito indefinido continuo" (estuve trabajando); and "preterito pluscuamperfecto" (habia estado trabajando). And we practise some of these past tense using exercise on files "66 A and B". Homework: You have to make 10 sentences, starting with: "Cuando estaba sentado en el metro,...."
April 3rd:
We do the exercise 3 of lesson 6 (a listeing on page 57). Later I explain vocabulary. Next on I explain "Expresiones de tiempo" of file "Gramatica de la leccion 6" (from page 2 to 5). Later, we do exercise 6 of the book (on page 58) and later you have to say things you still keep on doing and things you keep on not doing in order to practice (hace + time, desde hace + time...). Homework: You have to write sentences like the last activity.
